A short description about Puthiyangadi Village.
Kozhi
Bazar:
Kozhi Bazar is the portal to
Puthiyangadi from Payangadi Village. The Sultan Canal which separates Puthiyangadi
from Payangadi is situated here. Decades ago, this place was known
as"Kottakkaremoola".
Mottambrum:
Mottambrum is a small town
located in the heart of Puthiyangadi. Mottambrum links Puthiyangadi with another
village, Mattul. It was an undeveloped area till 1970 but Mottambrum had a steady
progress since then. Mottambrum was also called "Kalikkundu" because there
was a pool which was used to bath the cattle.
Angadi:
Puthiyangadi`s two main
streets are called as Angadi. The Juma Masjid, GMUP School, Izzathul Islam Madrassa
etc, are all located here. Angadi is basically a colony of beautiful houses on
either sides of the road. These locations are highly populated area in Puthiyangadi.
Ettammel:
The Puthiyangadi Jama'ath
High School is situated here. Years ago this was a sand hill and Puthiyangadi's
largest graveyard. Utharam Palli is also located here. Crossing the
"MLC Kadavu" on the Sultan Canal is the shortcut to reach Vengara and Muttum
Villages.
Neerozukkum Chal: (Beach road)
Beach road is the western
end of Puthiyangadi and the shores of Arabian Sea. Ezhimala can be watched from this
beach. It is a picturesque beauty to see the sunset in the corner of Ezhimala into
the Arabian Sea.
Chootad:
Chootad is known for it's
scenic beauty. On the backdrop of Chootad lies the Ezhimala and then there is the
Arabian sea touching it. The main charm is an estuary which is rich in shrimps and
oysters. It has a calm and cool climate.
