A short description about Puthiyangadi Village.

Kozhi Bazar:

Kozhi Bazar is the portal to Puthiyangadi from Payangadi Village.  The Sultan Canal which separates Puthiyangadi from Payangadi is situated here.  Decades ago, this place was known as"Kottakkaremoola".

Mottambrum:

Mottambrum is a small town located in the heart of Puthiyangadi.  Mottambrum links Puthiyangadi with another village, Mattul.  It was an undeveloped area till 1970 but Mottambrum had a steady progress since then.  Mottambrum was also called "Kalikkundu" because there was a pool which was used to bath the cattle.

Angadi:

Puthiyangadi`s two main streets are called as Angadi.  The Juma Masjid, GMUP School, Izzathul Islam Madrassa etc, are all located here.  Angadi is basically a colony of beautiful houses on either sides of the road. These locations are highly populated area in Puthiyangadi.

Ettammel:

The Puthiyangadi Jama'ath High School is situated here.  Years ago this was a sand hill and Puthiyangadi's largest graveyard.   Utharam Palli is also located here.  Crossing the "MLC Kadavu" on the Sultan Canal is the shortcut to reach Vengara and Muttum Villages.

Neerozukkum Chal: (Beach road)

Beach road is the western end of Puthiyangadi and the shores of Arabian Sea.  Ezhimala can be watched from this beach.  It is a picturesque beauty to see the sunset in the corner of Ezhimala into the Arabian Sea.

Chootad:

Chootad is known for it's scenic beauty.  On the backdrop of Chootad lies the Ezhimala and then there is the Arabian sea touching it.  The main charm is an estuary which is rich in shrimps and oysters.  It has a calm and cool climate.
